Special Recreation
REGISTRATION
1. All registration must be done either by mail or in person at the administration office. Program supervisors MAY NOT receive payment or registration forms at programs.
2. Registration will not be accepted without full payment.
3. There will be no prorated fee for late registration. The only exception to this is if a participant is new to the community.
4. Out of District residents may participate, however, an additional program fee will be charged unless otherwise noted.
5. To enroll a new participant, a meeting with the parents or guardian is recommended. A special registration application must be filled out. This meeting is to assure proper placement in our programs. For an appointment, please call Steve Reggi, A.P.R.P. Coordinator of Therapeutic Recreation, at (708) 547-3936.
PROGRAM POLICY
1. A class may be cancelled if the enrollment is less than eight participants, unless otherwise noted.
2. Programs begin and end at the times specified in the brochure. If the participant arrives after the appointed time, the class will not be lengthened.
3. If a participant cannot attend a program during the session, a substitute will not be accepted. This policy is for the protection of everyone.
TRANSPORTATION
Fully accessible, door-to-door transportation is offered for some programs. An additional fee of $10.00 is charged per program meeting. To qualify for this service you must reside within the village of Bellwood, Berkeley, Hillside, Melrose Park, Northlake and Stone Park. Transportation fee must be paid along with program fee one week before program begins.

General Information
Since 1974, Memorial Park District is one of only a small number of park districts in the state of Illinois to provide year-round recreation and leisure services for disabled children, teen and adult residents. We are committed to providing the highest in quality programs and staff so that all may have an opportunity to elevate the quality of living through recreation and leisure activities. We invite and individual with a special need to participate in our programs presented below.
We hope families will take advantage of these programs as well as urge parents, friends, or associates to encourage those people in need of our programs to enroll.
